Who and what:

Friends International started working with street children in 1994 and now supports many groups of marginalized children. Friends provides services to 20,000 children each year. Tree Alliance (Training Restaurants for Employment and Entrepreneurship) is an alliance of training restaurants working to build futures for former street youth and  marginalized young people to give them a helping hand in the hospitality industry.

The experience:

Tree Alliance Restaurants include the original fusion tapas restaurant Friends and the authentic Cambodian restaurant Romdeng in Phnom Penh; the atmospheric Marum in Siem Reap; and the seafood-oriented Sandan in Sihanoukville. When you choose to dine at a Tree Alliance restaurant, you are not only choosing to have a wonderful culinary experience in beautiful surroundings, you are actually choosing to support a young person in training.

From Hanuman:

Friends Restaurant has been turning out tasty tapas and original Asian bites for more and remains an essential stop for all Hanuman guests passing through Phnom Penh. Romdeng specialises in refined Khmer cuisine and is set in a beautiful old French villa complete with a shady garden and pool. Marum offers innovative Khmer cuisine in Siem Reap, including beef with red tree ants. Sandan is the place to indulge in Sihanoukville’s superb seafood.
