Who and what:

The Elephant Conservation Center hosts Laos’ first hospital dedicated to elephant victims of logging accidents and affected by diseases. Staffed with an international team of elephant veterinarians, our hospital offers veterinary care services, an emergency unit, laboratory and facilities to control animals prior to surgery.

The experience:

Set at the tip of a naturally forested peninsula diving into the Nam Tien lake, the Elephant Conservation Center offers a stunning view over the Elephant Mountain (Phou Xang) range on the north east. To the west, the most beautiful sunsets await you in our gardens or in one of our relaxing bungalows set by the water. Learn about the life of the elephants while contributing to our conservation programme.

From Hanuman:

Elephant Conservation Center is a non-government organisation dedicated to the welfare of elephants and offers an immersion experience for those who want to learn more about their behaviour. Learn the language of the mahout to control these animals as you move through the beautiful Lao countryside. Help to give the elephants a bath in the nearby reservoir. Overnight stays are available in a rustic camp onsite.
