From the hotel
Formerly a museum and hospital, the Kandawgyi Palace Hotel showcases gracious Myanmar architecture. Local golden teak and modern conveniences blend with the beauty of the lake, gardens and original old rainforest trees to make the Kandawgyi Palace an ideal tourist hotel, full of character and history.
The Kandawgyi Palace, on the shores of the tranquil Kandawgyi Lake (Royal Lake), was originally opened in 1934 as the Rangoon Rowing Club. Membership in those days was restricted to foreigners and their invited guests. Now it is open to all and one of the most popular 4* hotels in Yangon. Rooms have been recently renovated and include a number of suites. Lakefront Deluxe are Hanuman recommendation of choice.
