Who and what:

Huong Lai is a private, self-funded restaurant that employs former street children and disadvantaged youth and provides them with vocational training so they can build a better future. Around 80% of our graduates are now working in the hospitality sector, some with five-star hotels. Most of Huong Lai's service and kitchen staff are former street children, orphans or from poor families.

The experience:

Dine at our restaurant and enjoy delicious home cooked Vietnamese food. Sponsor the staff at our restaurant to attend English language classes or high schools. Donate money or material goods to Ms. Don's orphanage or Ms. Cuc's volunteer class. The orphanage cares for 35 to 40 children on average.

From Hanuman:

Huong Lai Restaurant is set in an attractive colonial-era shophouse on popular Ly Tu Trong Street. It offers traditional Vietnamese dining in a refined environment. All proceeds are ploughed back into the vocational training programme to create opportunities for young, disadvantaged Vietnamese. Good food, good cause, and we heartily recommend it.
