Who and what:

The house-building project on Inle Lake provides new, locally constructed houses for families suffering from dire poverty who are living in perilous structures. Newly constructed houses can stay in good condition for at least eight years. To date, this project has built over 100 safe and sanitary single family homes, each with two main rooms, outdoor kitchen, lavatory, metal roof, wood floor and bamboo mat walls.

The experience:

Help to build a local house for the day or even for several days and contribute something lasting to the local communities you are visiting. In addition, the project funds additional needs such as providing families access to clean water by supplying water filters and training programs on their proper use and care, food, rice, and scholarships.

From Hanuman:

This is a unique experience on popular Inle Lake, as it offers the opportunity to help one of the struggling local families to improve their home. After a morning spent as a construction assistant in the charming village of Ming Tauk or one of the nearby local villages, the afternoon is spent meeting teachers and pupils in the relaxed atmosphere of the village school.
